School of setting out is the construction school of the Finchley college. We are based in London and now offer city and Guild Higher level courses in construction. Units include, Site surveying procedures, estimating and tendering, finance in construction, materials management, budgeting and forecasting and many more.

You have option of studying for the full qualification or single subject units.

The surveying procedures and setting out unit is ideal for those who are changing career into construction or have already obtained HND or Bsc degree in any subject but lack practical understanding of how to use surveying instruments in real life construction sites and wish to work as a building site engineer or setting out engineer. You could complete this unit in two weeks full time to 12 weeks part time and seek job as an engineer on construction sites.

 

If you have not been successful in obtaining a place at a university you could study HPD in construction with us and then transfer to second or third year of a university to obtain your BSc degree.
